El Teide is one of those unique symbols in all of Spain. Every person when they talk about it for the first time is very shocked because of how different and special it is. It is the highest peak in the country (3,715 meters high) and its volcanic composition offers landscapes worth photographing and discovering with your own eyes.

Very special features and setting
This peak, which takes on much of the island's prominence, hides certain very peculiar characteristics. For example, if we refer to its shadow we find two very special characteristics. Despite not being a regular cone-shaped volcano, its shadow is totally conical. But that's not all, the shadow of the volcano holds a record. It is the largest shadow projected on the sea in the world.

Speaking of heights, El Teide cable car is the highest in Spain. Up to 44 people enter it and it covers almost 3,000 metres in less than ten minutes. Just 163 metres from the top is its station, called La Rambleta (3,555 meters above sea level). You dare to visit it?

With so much terrain and so much height, it is normal for the fauna and flora to be special. For this reason, there are several species such as the blue chaffinch or the perenquén that live among its kilometres of extension.

Friend 'runner', if you are thinking of running up it, we have to tell you that the record from Socorro’s beach to the top was set by Agustí Roc in 2013 with a time of 3h 33 minutes. 27 kilometres that can be done very hard.

As we said before, it is a national emblem. So much so, El Teide was reflected on the old 1,000 peseta bills. Run to see if you have one lying around and check it out!

Stage and claim of Hollywood, some of the highest-grossing sagas such as 'Rambo' and 'Fast and Furious (at full throttle)' have fallen under the charms of El Teide. Both Sylvester Stallone, along with Paz Vega, and Vin Diesel, appear in their respective films alongside the Canarian wonder.
